Celebration of GST Day 2025-DGGST Delhi letter dt. 15.05.25

Directorate General of Goods & Services Tax (DGGST), New Delhi issued a letter addressing The Principal Chief commissioners/ Chief Commissioners, CGST Zones regarding Celebration of GST Day 2025.

On the occasion of GST Day 2025, it has been decided to organize a GST Pakhwada across all CGST Zones from 16th to 30th June 2025, with the objective of facilitating and engaging with taxpayers. This initiative is in continuation of the directions communicated vide this office’s letter dated 22.04.2025.

2. During GST Pakhwada, activities as mentioned below shall be conducted at the Zonal/ Commissionerate level to resolve issues of trade and raise awareness among the stakeholders:

(i) Organize GST Conclave on 16th June 2025 at Zonal/ Commissionerate level with industry leaders, policymakers, tax experts and association leaders to discuss GST’s achievements, challenges, and future roadmap. This will mark the commencement of GST Pakhwada.

(ii) Organize GST Pakhwada (from 16th June – 30th June 2025) at the level of Commissionerate / Division depending on geographical spread:

  • Set up a helpdesk for resolving queries of trade at Commissionerate level manned by knowledgeable officers for trade guidance and resolving issues faced by them.
  • For outstation divisions, helpdesk can be set up for 2 days at division level.
  • Report to be sent in the following format by 23th June 2025 (first report) and 29th June 2025 (Second report) to DGGST:
    • How many visitors have visited the helpdesk.
    • How many issues of such visitors have been resolved.
    • How many issues are under process for resolution.

(iii) All GST government buildings may be lit for one week.

(iv) GST Impact Reports: A series of infographics / animated videos explaining the positive impact of GST, ease of doing business, and tax transparence in India as shared by DGTS to be displayed on the screens.

3. In order to ensure wide publicity for the nationalwide commemoration of GST Day, the GST Conclave, and GST Pakhwada, advertisements will be published in leading Hindi, English, and vernacular newspaper by DGTS. In this regard, you are requested to kindly provide the required information in the following format for inclusion in the advertisement by 01.06.2025:
