GST tribunals to be functional from October – West Bengal

The West Bengal government on Thursday said that two GST tribunal benches will be set up in the state this year for faster resolution of tax issues.

Speaking to media persons, Minister of State for Finance (Independent charge) Chandrima Bhattacharya said the two benches, a part of the central appellate tribunal, would address the issues related to GST of aggrieved parties.

“The GST tribunal benches will come up in our state and will be functional from October 1. It will facilitate faster resolution of GST-related issues. We had requested for setting up of two benches in the state during the 50th GST Council meeting and the Centre had agreed to it,” Bhattacharya said, adding the tribunal benches will function in a phased manner.
