The state taxation department conducted a massive checking drive at Mandi Gobindgarh in Punjab on Wednesday and seized 51 trucks loaded with scrap material and steel for evading taxes.

The officers and staff of the state GST (SGST) department started the checkings at multiple nakas where trucks loaded with scrap and steel were physically checked and documents were also screened.
As many as 51 trucks loaded with scrap and steel goods were impounded by the SGST teams as they were not carrying proper invoices, e-way bills and other required documents.
