Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary Tourism, Government of Bihar, said, “We introduced the policy three to four months ago and have finalised the norms. For any investors, we offer a 25 to 30 per capital subsidy and GST reimbursements of up to 80 percent. On a cost of Rs. 100, we are giving back Rs. 110. These are the incentives we are providing.”

The long-term success of Goods and Services Tax (GST) depends on moving towards a single nationwide rate, and GST 2.0 should be the first step by adopting only two slabs—5 per cent and 18 per cent—while capping the peak rate at 18 per cent instead of 40 per cent, a report said on Monday.
West Bengal Finance Minister Chandrima Bhattacharya on Wednesday said amendments made to the Goods and Services Tax were in sync with the recommendations unanimously ratified at the GST Council meeting. Tabling the West Bengal Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2024 in the assembly, she said that the opposition to the amendment bill by BJP legislator Biswanath Karak was incomprehensible as the Centre has supported the state’s recommendation in this regard.
