CBIC issued SOP v1.1 for implementation of Govt. notification prohibiting import of mobile phones with duplicate, fake and non-genuine International Mobile Equipment Identity.
The CBIC vide Instruction No.12/2022-Customs dated July 07, 2022 has issued Standard Operating Procedure (“SOP”) (Version 1.1) for implementation of Central Government notification prohibiting import of mobile phones with duplicate, fake and non-genuine International Mobile Equipment Identity.
Kind reference is invited to copy of the Office Memorandum dated July 04, 2022 received from Department of Telecommunication, Ministry of Communication, New Delhi, on the above subject, enclosing therewith with a copy of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) (Version 1.1) for “Implementation of Central Government notification prohibiting the import of mobile phones with duplicate, fake and non-genuine International Mobile Equipment Identity” (copy enclosed).
Vide the above stated OM, Department of Telecommunication has informed that the SOP version 1.0 has been modified appropriately due to operationalization of new system i.e. Indian Counterfeited Device Restriction (ICDR) system w.e.f. January 28, 2020 and has attached copy of the above stated SOP (Version 1.1) as Annexure -I to the above stated OM.
It is hereby requested that necessary action may be taken to sensitize officers under your jurisdictions regarding the above mentioned modified SOP (Version 1.1) issued from Department of Telecommunications.
The Customs Officers requiring login to the system may send the details (i.e. Name, Designation, Email id, Mobile no., Port Name, Port Code, State/UT and Preferred Login ID) to uscus4.dor@gov.in latest by July 12, 2022.
