Gujarat: Tax evasion worth Rs 2.5 cr by traders of artificial flowers, decorative items detected

The Gujarat state GST department detected tax evasion of around Rs 2.5 crore by entities dealing in artificial flowers and decorative items, during searches conducted on December 5, according to a statement.

Searches were conducted on 11 such businessmen in Ahmedabad where “irregularities such as unaccounted sales and unaccounted stock were noticed and total tax evasion of about Rs. 2.50 crore and total liability of about Rs. 3.50 crore has been unearthed”, the statement added.

Artificial flowers attract an 18% GST.
