India replies to Trump’s tariff threat, proposes to collect $ 3.8 bn from Steel and Aluminium duties

India responded to US President Donald Trump’s tariff threats by proposing to impose retaliatory duties on steel and aluminium, according to a notification sent to the World Trade Organization (WTO). India said it’ll collect duties worth $3.82 billion in retaliation, similar to the amount of US will collect from duties on Indian exports. US imposed 50% tariffs on steel and aluminium.
