GST cut on battery swapping key to EV growth, says IndoFast CEO
The high 18% GST on batteries used for swapping is one of the biggest hurdles to accelerating India’s transition to electric vehicles (EVs), said Anant Badjatia, CEO, IndoFast Energy. Speaking at a panel discussion on EV and the future of mobility at Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024, Badjatia called for urgent reforms to taxation and policy, emphasising the transformative potential of battery swapping if these barriers are addressed.
15 booked for thrashing three men by calling them fake GST officials
After the October 9 incident when three Khanna-based persons were beaten up by some dry fruit shopkeepers and some miscreants at the Kesar Ganj market, accusing them of being fake GST officials, the city police yesterday registered a case against 15 unknown assailants. During the incident, shopkeepers had called the police on the spot, which took them to the police station for further investigation.

The Enforcement Wing of the State Taxes Department Samba, has imposed penalties amounting to Rs. 1.2 crore after detecting 190 cases of GST violations related to the movement of goods in transit in J&K.
Bengaluru man nabbed: ED busts Rs 10 cr scam involving fake PANs, tax fraud
Dilip B R, a conman allegedly involved in a series of financial crimes, was arrested by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) on November 18, 2024, officials said on Monday. The arrest was made under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, following an investigation into his involvement in multiple fraudulent activities, including bank loan fraud, identity theft, and tax refund scams.
Foreign Assets Abroad Under I-T Department’s Scanner; Notices Issued To 400 Residents
The Income Tax Department has issued notices to at least 400 individuals who have not disclosed their foreign assets held mainly in UAE, Singapore and UK, officials privy to the development said.
