Date of online filing of appeal be considered as date of filing GST appeal for the purpose of limitation

The Hon’ble Madras High Court in the case of Kasturi & Sons (P.) Ltd. wherein the Hon’ble High Court taking into consideration Rule 108(3) of the Central Goods and Services Tax Rules, 2017 (“the CGST Rules”) held that the date of online filing of appeal be considered as the date of filing GST appeal for the purpose of limitation.

Govt collects Rs 16,398 crore GST on health, life insurance in FY24: FinMin

The revenue collected by the union government through Goods and Services Tax (GST) on healthcare and life insurance services surged by 680 per cent to Rs 16,398 crore in 2023-24 from Rs 2,101 crore in 2019-20, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in a written reply in Lok Sabha on Monday.

GoM report on GST on health insurance to be placed before Council when received: Finance Ministry

Recommendations of the Group of Ministers (GoM) looking into issues pertaining to GST on life and health insurance will be placed before the GST Council when received, Parliament was informed on Monday. The issue of exempting/reducing GST on life and health insurance was placed before the GST Council in its 54th meeting on September 9, 2024.
