The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) recovered ₹20,000 crore in outstanding dues in the first quarter of this financial year, almost double of what it had recovered in the year-ago period.
The sum included ₹17,244 crore as corporate tax, ₹2,714 crore as personal income-tax and ₹180 crore as short payment or non-payment of tax deducted at source, said officials.

The new Income Tax Return (ITR) filing portal 2.0 which was launched on June 7, 2021, is a simpler and user friendly than ITR portal 1.0 but like any new technology, this 2.0 portal is also experiencing many glitches.
