SGST officials recently uncovered tax evasion of Rs. 9.2 crore in a crackdown on pan masala and tobacco dealers in Ahmedabad, following specific intelligence inputs.

Search operations were conducted at 10 locations, including Changodar and areas along SG Highway.
The investigation revealed multiple irregularities, such as unaccounted stock, unregistered dealers, and undisclosed cash transactions. The tax evasion of Rs.9.2 crore was admitted and fully paid by the defaulters, the department confirmed.
