The Gujarat State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) Department on Friday said it had detected tax evasion to the tune of Rs 3.53 crore from B2C (business to consumer) traders in the tobacco and battery industries, resulting from sales without the issuance of invoices (bills).
Following a search and seizure operation conducted across 14 firms in Gujarat involved in copper trading, the state GST officials arrested one person for evading goods and services tax (GST) to the tune of Rs. 19.5 crore.
