As part of ongoing pan-India “Operation Weed Out”, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has seized 39.2 kg of hydroponic weed at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, Mumbai on 13th-14th September 2025.
Ten individuals (all Indian nationals) including the mastermind, carriers coming from abroad, retail distributors and middlemen have been arrested and produced before the courts for judicial remand.
Mumbai Customs on Wednesday said that its officers deputed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai have arrested a passenger arriving from Kuala Lumpur with hydroponic marijuana worth over Rs 12 crore.
The officials said that the Mumbai Customs has arrested a traveller at the international airport here for allegedly trying to smuggle 15 kg of hydroponic weed with an estimated value of Rs 14.73 crore, reported news agency PTI.
