Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited has received orders pertaining to GST from the Assistant Commissioner Central Goods & Service Tax Division-II, Chandigarh, according to the exchange filing.
The demand order relates to the conclusion of the audit proceedings under section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017, whereby the dispute relates to the claim of ITC in the IGST category instead of CGST & SGST (inter head adjustment).
The order in Form DRC-07 imposed demand as under: Tax – Rs. 1,16,80,007; Interest – Rs. 2,76,221; Penalty – Rs. 1,26,92,444.
The GST authorities have raised a total demand of Rs. 2,46,48,672.
“The Company intents to file a suitable appeal against the said order before The Appellate Authority,” the company said in an exchange filing.
