Joint Commissioner (ST), Vijaywada has written to The President, Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Gandhinagar, Vijayawada as under.
It is informed that the Government of India announced a special drive programmee across the country to weed out fake registrations under the GST Act, 2017 from 16.05.2023 to 15.07.2023 and GSTN will identify the cases to be verified in all states.
As a part of this exercise, team headed by AC/ Dy. AC of the commercial taxes department will visit business premises of tax payers for verification of the genuineness of the registrations as per data received from GSTN. This is strictly a verification process and not in any way inspection of business premises of the dealer.
It is informed that, if the tax payers come across any issues during this process, the same shall be brought to the notice of the concerned jurisdictional Joint Commissioner to resolve the issue.
