Facility to Search e-Invoice /IRN in IRP

The facility to search /fetch the details of the IRN – Invoice Reference Number based on the Invoice no. is available at IRP under ‘Search /Enable’. The short link is https://einvoice.gst.gov.in/einvoice/search-irn

The other option is to search the details of IRN viz. status, date and time of registration basis IRN to know the genuineness of the IRN.

Both the search are shown below:

1) IRN search based on Invoice details

a) Fill up Supplier GSTIN, Financial Year, Document Type (i.e. Invoice, Debit Note, Credit Note), Document Number/Invoice number and type captcha as seen in the screen below:

b) IRN is displayed with Status as Registered , IRP Name, Date and Time of Registration is also fetched as seen in the screen below:

2. IRN information as regard status of registration based on IRN

a. Type the IRN under ‘Invoice Reference Number’ field as seen below.

b) IRN details are fetched with Status as registered, IRP Name, Date and time of registration as seen below.

c) In the IRN based search as it can be seen the supplier’s GSTIN, Financial Year, Document Type and Document Number is not fetched.

d) So, based on this Search a department officer /authority can check the genuineness of the IRN i.e. the status, IRP name and date and time of registration of IRN and validate /confirm that the IRN is genuine.

e) A taxpayer can also check the genuineness of the IRN generated by his supplier through this option.
