The total amount of GST evasion is expected to be higher than what was found during the preliminary investigation.

Three firms deposited GST of Rs. 4.75 crore with the authorities on the spot. These firms were purchasing raw scrap to make bars and evading GST.

The enforcement wing of GST in Chhattisgarh is actively monitoring and taking action on complaints of tax evasion. The wing had been monitoring these firms for GST evasion from scrap for a long time. Advanced IT tools were used by the department, and action was taken based on the information obtained through inspection of the e-way bills and the information collected from the field.
