GSTN Advisory 16.07.24 – “Integrated Services from NIC-IRP e-invoice-1 and e-invoice-2 Portals” to be live from 1st Aug., 2024 on production portals. Now (18.07.24) it is available in sandbox for testing purpose.

- The taxpayers can use the e-invoice-2 portal during technical glitches in e-invoice main portal or any other exigencies.
- The Criss-Cross operations of printing, downloading and cancelling can be carried out on these portals. That is, printing, downloading and cancelling of e-invoices of the portal 1 can be done at portal 2 and vice versa.
- In case e-invoice-1 is non-operational because of technical reasons, then the e-invoice-2 portal can be used for all the services of the e-invoices.
E-invoice was introduced on 1st Oct., 2020. Total ten (10) portals were introduced then envisaging the volume of invoices that would flow into the portal for generating IRN. Only Portal no.1 was operational. Later 4 portals viz. Portal no.3, 4, 5 & 6 were assigned to GSPs namely Cleartax, Cygnet, E&Y and IRIS to operate as Private IRP (GSTN Advisory dt. 04.03.23) whereby they are to generate e-invoice for taxpayers as portal no.1 of Govt. does. Now, portal no.2 which is operated by NIC as like Portal no.1 is released on 18.07.24 in sandbox for testing of integrated service from e-invoice-1 and e-invoice-2 before moving it to production environment (go-live) on 1st Aug., 24.
