Bengaluru-based gaming platform Gameskraft is discontinuing its fantasy offering Gamezy Fantasy – which allowed cricket enthusiasts to pick virtual teams, participate in virtual tournaments and win prizes – from Monday.
The platform has been in the public eye for some months now for a Rs. 21,000 crore GST demand from tax authorities.
The company said prevailing industry trends and internal insights have underscored the need for deep category – specific experiences to provide a wholesome and immersive gameplay to its players. “Given the vision with regards to our portfolio, we have made a strategic decision to reassess and temporarily deprioritise our Gamezy super app. We are focusing on the development and promotion of dedicated single apps, like our newly-launched RummyPrime, LudoCulture and other initiatives. This focus allows us to concentrate on our core competencies and channel great resources towards delivering unparalleled user experiences,” a company spokesperson said.
