GSTN is taking downtime to enhance its services on the GST Portal on 04.02.2026 from 12:00 AM onwards until 5:00 am of 04.02.2026.
“We shall be enhancing services on the GST portal on 4th February’26 12:00 AM onwards. GST Portal services will not be available until 4th February’26 05:00 AM. The inconvenience caused is regretted.”

Rule 8 of the CGST Rules, 2017 provides that an applicant can be identified on the common portal, based on data analysis and risk parameters for Biometric-based Aadhaar Authentication and taking a photograph of the applicant along with the verification of the original copy of the documents uploaded with the application. The said functionality has been developed by GSTN. It has been rolled out in Madhya Pradesh on 27th November 2024.
