In a move poised to streamline India’s renewable energy policies, Subrahmanyam Pulipaka, CEO of the National Solar Energy Federation of India, has advocated for the creation of a national Electricity Council, similar to the GST. This proposal, he suggests, will address the policy discrepancies across states, enhancing the ease of doing business in the renewable energy sector.
Speaking to the ET Energyworld, Pulipaka underscored the necessity of such a council. “To bring about uniformity in energy policies across states and ease the business process, a national-level Electricity Council, on the lines of the GSTC, is essential,” he stated.
