No proposal to relax e-invoicing under GST regime says Finance Minister

The state government has formed an audit section to reshuffle GST department and thereby prevent tax evasion. The Cabinet meeting has approved the reorganization of the Taxpayer Service section, Audit section and Intelligence and Enforcement section of the GST department.

Additionally, 15 revenue tax districts have been formed in the state. Ernakulam was divided into two districts, Ernakulam and Aluva. There will be 31 tax-paying divisions and 140 audit teams will be appointed in seven zones.

The Taxpayer Services section will oversee the registration, submission of returns and related checks, refunds and dispute resolution. The audit section is responsible for revenue monitoring activities. The intelligence and enforcement section will have 41 intelligence and 47 enforcement units.
